The Village Panchayat of Cavelossim and the newly-constituted Disaster Management Committee conducted a live mock drill at the Cavelossim ferry point as part of their disaster management preparedness plan.
Three fishermen were rescued and were given CPU by Dristhi life-saving personnel, who also assisted in the mock drill, informed Cavelossim Sarpanch Dixon Vaz.
He said the mock drill was arranged at the ferry point Cavelossim to test the efficacy of the disaster management preparedness.
The sarpanch, who is the Chairman of the Cavelossim Disaster Management Committee said an ambulance and a police personnel also took part in the mock drill.
Cavelossim has set up a disaster management team in view of the ensuing monsoon, equipped with a vehicle, tree cutting machine, etc.
