Divar locals were inconvenienced for the second consecutive day as the ferry services were halted in the morning due to thick fog engulfing the river.
On Monday too, the locals were inconvenienced due to the halt in the ferries.
A long queue of vehicles was witnessed as students, office-goers and others lined up to cross over to the mainland.
Speaking to The Goan, a local, Chillaya Sawant, expressed disappointment over the happenings in the last couple of days and lambasted the government for doing nothing about it.
“Something has to be worked out so that students, office-goers and others who want to cross over to the mainland for urgent works are not inconvenienced,” Sawant said.
He further suggested that fog lights could be used on the ferry boats to ply the ferries when such situation arises.
“We just cannot be allowed to suffer like this on a regular basis,” Sawant opined urged that the government come out with some solution on the issue.
