Culture, traditions and art was on full display at Dongrim-Mandur as the sleepy hamlet came to life to the beats of Intruzotsav festival as on Tuesday, the fourth day, the ‘Mell’ was celebrated.
The troupes from five mandaps in the twin wards of Vodlem Bhatt and Dhaktem Bhatt, comprising the young and old, played the traditional music instruments like Dhol, Tashem, Suari, and others.
The troupes went around the two wards playing the music with thousands of people lining up the street to witness the Intruzotsav, which is unique to Dongrim.
The politicians too made their presence at the festival with Union Minister Shripad Naik, St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar, Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira, former MLA Francisco Silveira, ZP member Dhaku Madkaikar, RGP president Manoj Parab and others participating.
The politicians also tried their hands at playing the traditional instruments.
The ‘Mell’ was celebrated till the wee hours of Wednesday and finally, the festival concluded with the celebration of the ‘Dhoolat’ or the ‘Gulaal’.
