The Crime Branch (CB) has succeeded in nabbing an alleged drug trafficker from Hyderabad following a lead from his accomplice arrested in Goa last week. Mahesh Gaud, hailing from the Siddipet district of Hyderabad (Telangana) was arrested from his home state by the CB team and brought to Goa on a transfer warrant on Thursday.
The CB sleuths took the assistance of the Markook Police Station, which covers the alleged peddler’s district under its jurisdiction. He was produced before the court for police remand.
His arrest is in continuation to an ongoing probe wherein Secunderabad (Hyderabad-Telangana) youth Yeshwant Reddy was caught red-handed peddling MDMA in the coastal village of Siolim on October 11.
His interrogation revealed the names of four traffickers from Hyderabad, who reportedly supplied the synthetic contraband to Reddy during his trip to Goa.
One of them was Gaud, who was successfully taken into custody.
