In relief to BAMS and BHMS, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has relaxed the eligibility criteria of securing a minimum of 50 per cent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) in Class XII for admissions to undergraduate courses in Indian System of Medicine (ISM) and Homoeopathy, respectively, from this academic year onwards.
The move comes following the decision taken by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH).
Under the new guidelines, the candidates must pass their Class XII examination with PCB and Biotechnology to apply for BAMS programmes. However, clearing the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- Undergraduate (NEETUG) remains a compulsory requirement for admissions.
“The academic Eligibility criteria for admissions to BAMS and BHMS courses has been revised to pass in Std. XIIth with subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology, by respective National Council/Commission,” DTE said.
However, Merit List will be prepared based on the valid NEETUG-2025 Scores, it added.
DTE has asked the interested applicants for BAMS & BHMS courses, rendered eligible due to revised eligibility criteria to submit their application form by August 4.
