Duo injured in accident at Arlem
MARGAO: Two perons were injured, one of them seriously, when the scooter they were riding on was knocked down by a sedan at Arlem.
According to Maina-Curtorim police, the incident occured on January 26, when the Maruti Ertiga suddenly took a U-turn at Arlem and knocked down the two scooterists who were proceeding from Ponda to Margao. The scooter rider, one Dhareppa (24), a native of Belgaum, sustained injuries while the pillion rider, one Subrato (28), a resident of Ponda, was seriously injured. Police said some occupants of the Ertiga were also injured.
The Maina-Curtorim police have registered an offence under Section 279, 337 and 338 of IPC. Further investigations are in progress.
