Duo remanded in Rawanfond assault case

Two persons - Mushtaq Attar and Krishna Hosur, who were arrested late night on Sunday, January 3, and are suspected to be involved in the Rawanfond assault case, have been remanded to four-day police custody.
According to Margao police, another two suspects - Aarav Kavlekar and Akshay Naik, who are also suspected to be involved in this incident are reportedly absconding.
The incident occurred when the aforementioned four suspects allegedly assaulted the victim, one Rohit Chavan (20), at Rawanfond junction on Sunday night. The victim's friend was also assaulted by the four suspects. Rohit was moved to GMC, Bambolim, the same night as he had sustained knife injuries in the alleged assault. Police said previous enmity was the motive behind the alleged assault.
While the police had managed to nab the duo of Mushtaq and Krishna the same night, the two other suspects are still at large.
The Margao police have registered an offence under Section 232, 326, 427 r/w 34 of IPC. Further investigations are in progress.
