Eight new members for Pilar Society
PANAJI: Eight novices made their first profession and became the members of the Society of Missionaries of St Francis Xavier, popularly known as Society of Pilar on May 24, during the Eucharistic celebration held at Pilar Monastery Church.
Fr Francis Carvalho, the Superior General of Pilar Society was the main celebrant flanked by Fr Hilario Fernandes, Vicar General and Chairman of Central Formation Commission of the Society and Fr Romualdo Gonsalves, Director of Novices.
The novices were Denzyl Luis Pereira, Lelwin Pereira and Savio De Souza (Goa), Shailesh Gopal Jadhav (Gujarat), Alok Minj (Jharkhand), Pritam Lakra (Andaman and Nicobar Islands), Wilson Godad (Maharashtra) and Randall James D’Souza (Mumbai).
The newly-professed members shall be proceeding to Nagpur to study Philosophy at Charles Seminary run by Dominicans and to do their graduation at St Francis de Sales College.
