Engine of Vasco Howrah Amravati Express catches fire

The rear engine of Vasco Howrah Amravati Express suddenly burst into flames at around 7:15 am near Cansaulim station on Sunday morning. Fire services personnel rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control before it could cause any major damage. The damaged rear engine was later replaced and within two hours, the train departed safely to Howrah.

Gold smuggler arrested by customs at Dabolim airport

The Air Intelligence Unit of Goa Customs arrested a person trying to smuggle 1.16 kg of gold worth Rs 32 lakh. The said person, an Indian national, was travelling from Dubai to Bengaluru via Goa. The gold bars were covered in balloons and were hidden in the toilet of Air India aircraft AI 994.
