Erratic power irks Dramapur locals

While the pre-monsoon showers in the State haven’t been able to give much of a respite to people from the sweltering summer, the frequent power cuts and erratic power supply have only added to their woes.

Residents of Zamcotta ward of Dramapur village in particular have been at the receiving end. Up in arms against the erratic power supply to their areas, the beleaguered power consumers from the Zamcotta ward called on the Executive Engineer, Santosh Lolienkar, and let off some steam on the power supply situation of the last few days.
Panch members Bernard Rebello and Domnick Noronha, who accompanied the consumers, demanded action. After giving the consumers a patient hearing, Lolienkar attributed the power situation to the delay in the installation of a power transformer in the ward for want of space. He told the consumers that the space constraint has only delayed the commissioning of a new transformer for want of permission from the land owners.
Lolienkar will visit the Zamcotto ward on Wednesday morning for an on-the-spot assessment of the situation and to explore the possibility of finding suitable space for the erection of the transformer.
A power consumer Renita Da Gama told the media that the patience of the consumers is running out and hoped that Lolienkar will honour his word and ensure uninterrupted power supply to the village.
