Fancy dress contest to mark I-Day held

PANAJI:

A fancy dress competition was organised by Rudreshwar Panaji to mark the Independence Day at Azad Maidan on Sunday.

Poet and lyricist John Aguiar was the Chief Guest for the fancy dress competition.

These competitions aim to educate and engage participants, particularly kids, in India’s freedom struggle, said Aguiar .

He further said that this event encourages creativity, research, and public speaking skills while fostering a deeper understanding of India’s journey to independence. He congratulated Rudreshwar Panaji for holding such a competition.

Participants selected costumes that closely resemble their chosen characters, and performed short speeches or presentations explaining the significance of their chosen costumes.

In the ‘A’ group(age group 2-5 years) Anisha D. Parab, Advait Vaibhav Naik, Shreeja Arun Marathe, Karvi Manoj kumar Dhuri and Pavani Premanand Naik bagged the first, second, third, fourth and fifth prizes respectively. In the ‘B’ group (age group ( 6-10 years) Rajat Kudnekar, Advik Vishal Asolkar, Arohi Deepak Verekar, kiyan Madhav Naik and Durvi Shetgaonkar bagged first, second, third, fourth and fifth prizes respectively while in Group C (Age group 10-13 years) Sai Sarkar, Yukta Parab, Shinuj Matinkar, Surekha Kinlekar and Savita Hodarkar bagged first, second, third, fourth and fifth prizes respectively.

Jayendranarh Hallkankar and Kranti Char were the Judges for the competition. 75 children participated in the competition.

Shivendra Tari welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. While Yogesh Joshi proposed a vote of thanks. Kunal Dhargalkar - treasurer of Rudreshwar, Member Secretary of IMB Ashok Parab and others were present.
