The Goan Seamen Association of India (GSAI) has on Saturday felicitated its president Frank Viegas after his election as the Sarpanch of the village panchayat of Chinchinim.
The GSAI members, including Santan Pereria, Engineer Gabriel Pinto and others said it is a proud moment for the seafaring community that a seamen and president of GSAI has been elected unopposed as the Chinchinim Panchayat Sarpanch.
In his address, Frank thanked the members for felicitating him upon his election as Sarpanch of Chinchinim village. He said he will work to provide a transparent administration for the villagers of Chinchinim, which plays host to a significant population of seafarers. “We will work with dedication and commitment with the cooperation of the people’, Frank added.
