The father of the victim, Sanjana Sawant, who died in a mishap at Siridao has said that he will not accept her body till the accused responsible for the accident is arrested.
Speaking to The Goan, Ashok Sawant said a youth on the bike was responsible for the fatal accident, due to which he lost his daughter.
"I want justice for my daughter and demand that the police arrest the accused at the earliest," Sawant stated, while adding that there appears to be an attempt to protect the accused as he is related to a police officer.
"The accused is not seriously injured and he is being kept admitted in the GMC only to avoid his arrest," Sawant charged and demanded that the police should arrest him.
"If the police fail to arrest the accused, then I will not accept my daughter's body," Sawant added.
The other family members also supported the demand and exhorted the police to conduct free and fair investigation without any political interference.
They also threatened that they will not keep quiet till justice is served to the victim.
