Director of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Jyoti Sardesai has notified that the election process to select six members of the Goa State Pharmacy Council (GSPC) will be held over a period of six weeks between January 13 and February 28.
The council has a term of six years.
Sardesai in the notice published in the official gazette has invited nominations from eligible persons to fill the six vacancies pointing out that each candidate must file separate nomination paper and any person entitled to vote at the election may sign it for any number of candidates but not exceeding six.
Each of the nomination forms (Form B) must be complete with all information sought therein and must reach her FDA office not later than 1 pm on January 13.
Sardesai will conduct a scrutiny of Nomination Papers on January 16 and 17 and withdrawals will be permitted on January 18.
Ballot papers will be sent out to all eligible voters on January 20 which can be sent back with the vote registered latest by February 24.
Counting of votes and results will be declared on February 28, Sardesai added.
