Fire broke out at a residential house at Arlem-Raia on Friday evening, leaving one injured with burn injuries.
Another person was rushed to the South Goa district hospital after he complained of breathlessness.
The incident occurred at around 6.30 pm on Friday when the house caught fire in the kitchen portion. A resident Valentino Gaonkar, who tried to bring the fire under control, sustained injuries on his hand. His brother was rushed to the district hospital after he complained of breathlessness.
Margao Fire Officer Gill D’Sa told the media that the fire damaged three washing machines, wooden items in the house. He said the residents had brought the fire under control before the fire brigade could reach the site.
