Fernandes visited the fish vendors at the Chaudi fish market as promised before election and heard their grievances.
While interacting with the fisher women, Fernandes said, “The municipal council failed to take care of the long pending issues of toilet and water. This is not fair. If the fish vendors need to make proper use of the market, it has to be also maintained properly and adequately.”
CMC Chief Officer Kedar Naik and municipal engineer Rajesh Desai were then asked to provide basic needs on priority and complete it in a month.
Responding to various other issues raised by the fisher women, Fernandes informed that the pending issues and disputes of fish vendors will be sorted out later.
People had complained most fish vendors from municipal fish market sit outside the fish market, thereby blocking the roads in
the area.
