The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has put under the hammer a whopping 1.78 lakh square metres of its land at its marquee industrial estate in Verna.
Split in 29 plots of multiple dimensions ranging from 1,000 square metres to the largest one of 45,000 square metres, the GIDC request for bids (RFB) invites the bids on a 'long-term lease' basis via the e-tender/e-auction mode.
The GIDC is holding on to a massive land bank at Verna and across the State after the land of the controversial Special Economic Zones (SEZs) was bought back from the nearly dozen promoter companies.
Apart from Verna, the SEZ land reverted back to the GIDC is also located at the nearby Sancoale and also at Keri in North Goa.
The RFB was uploaded onto e-procure portal of the Goa government on Monday and the last date for receiving bids for these 29 plots is June 9.
