The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Goa-IDC) has warned to take action against non-operational industries at Canacona Industrial Estate.
The Corporation will also be acquiring land to expand current units or establish new ones.
The IDC will be seeking details as well as inspecting places to ascertain if these are functional.
“The IDC will initiate immediate action against non-functional units and recover land for expansion of existing units or setting up new units. All the industrialists should collaborate with the IDC for the development of industrial estates and shed cynicism,” Managing Director, Goa-IDC Pravimal Abhishek stated while addressing the 18th edition of the IDC-Connect programme at the Canacona Industrial Estate.
He also assured the industrialists that their feedback and grievances will be addressed on a priority basis.
The event, organised to improve service delivery, redress grievances, and promote the implementation of various schemes for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), saw the participation of over 40 industrialists, IDC officials and representatives of other departments.
Issues such as repair works of the overhead reservoir, pump house, streetlights, drains, and welcome gate were discussed besides the suggestions for tackling non-functional units, designing a new IDC portal, and streamlining the vacant plot advertising mechanism.
As part of the programme, a field visit was conducted along with the industrialists to inspect the existing infrastructure and identify the areas that need repair work. The MD said that the IDC-Connect programme is expected to boost the industrial growth and investment climate in the State by creating a conducive environment for existing and prospective entrepreneurs.
