Girls wing opens at Apna Ghar
PANAJI: Minister for Women and Child Development (WCD) Dilip Parulekar inaugurated the renovated and upgraded girls wing of Apna Ghar at Merces. Sudhir Mahajan, secretary for WCD, Shilpa Shinde, director WCD and others were present.
The renovation work was undertaken by the GSIDC Ltd. M/s Bhaskar Wagle & Associates were the design consultants. This shelter for the homeless children and children in conflict with the law has been sensitively renovated and upgraded using a very holistic approach. The design segregates the different types of juvenile based on age. The building has been provided with the easy to maintain, clean and hygienic infrastructure.
The idea is to create a free and open yet secured environment for the children.
