Goa Biz Fest display: 30 projects from State educational institutes

PANAJI: Goa Biz Fest, a 3-day extravaganza to boost entrepreneurship, employability & development, is all set to take off at Bambolim from February 8 to 10.
Enlightening media persons about the event, Manoj Patil, president, GEMS (Goa Entrepreneurs Mentoring Services Trust) said that as many as 30 projects from engineering and architectural institutes of Goa will be showcased at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadiumd.
Rajkumar Kamat, executive director, BNI (Business Network International)-Goa informed that they are going through 100 projects to select 30 best projects to be showcased at the event. These projects are of final year students or those who have just passed out. In fact, venture capitalists are expected to be present at Goa Biz Fest. Therefore, some of these projects may even get picked up for investment.
Kamat said, "These 30 projects should be commercially viable so that they can become businesses, which can create jobs."
Another highlight of Goa Biz Fest is GEMS Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Kamat informed that they have already received 23 nominations for the same. The last date to file nominations is January 20. Kamat said he expects 60 nominations for this award this year.
Dr Pramod Sawant, speaker of the legislative assembly, is the chief mentor of Goa Biz Fest. He said, "The third edition of Goa Biz Fest, which will happen from Feb 8 to 10 at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium is a great opportunity for young entrepreneurs. The event will provide youth a golden opportunity to present their credentials and explore varied job opportunities."
Kamat said, "One of the highlight of the event is the Career/Job Fair, which is aimed at final year students, unemployed or under employed youth. We expect that a lot of job seekers will get offer letters from visiting corporates at the job fair."
It was also informed that Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar, will share his government's vision for Goa 2022 at Goa Biz Fest.

PANAJI: Without beef for the last four days, the supply of the most-sought after meat in the State is set to resume from today.
