Goa DJ linked to Hyderabad farmhouse rave party case

A Goa-based DJ has emerged as a prime figure in the Special Investigation Team’s (Telangana police) probe into the Moinabad farmhouse drug party, with the sleuths identifying him as a primary supplier in a network that allegedly channelled synthetic drugs to high-profile consumers.

Police sources confirmed that the DJ, identified as Clinton, is believed to have sourced and supplied MDMA that eventually reached a farmhouse owned by former BRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy, mid-March. The development has prompted police to dispatch a team to Goa, where a manhunt is now underway.

The Telangana Police’s EAGLE task force conducted the raid during a weekend party at the farmhouse on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Among those detained were TDP MP Putta Mahesh Kumar and Reddy, along with several others, while seven were released hours later.

Police said that Clinton allegedly was the first to supply MDMA to a Jubilee Hills-based physician who was arrested earlier in the case. The contraband was then allegedly routed to Reddy and his associates, who are suspected of having consumed the drug at the March 14 party.

“The emergence of a Goa-based supplier had raised strong suspicion about inter-state drug networks and the role of nightlife-linked operators in distributing synthetic substances,” the source said.

While unconfirmed reports suggested that Clinton was detained, police have not officially acknowledged any arrest. With this, the number of accused in the case has risen to 16. Several others, including one Rakesh Verma and Abhishek Singh, remain at large.

Reddy, his brother Ritesh, and Namith Sharma are currently lodged in Chanchalguda Jail.

The investigation has also upended initial assumptions about the substances consumed at the party. “The SIT had first believed that only cocaine was in use. However, forensic findings and witness accounts now indicate that MDMA and other stimulants may also have been present,” the source said.

Although six had reportedly consumed narcotics before police raided the farmhouse, only cocaine was recovered at the scene. Subsequent tests showed that Reddy brothers, Kaushik Ravi and Arjun Reddy were positive for cocaine.

Namith Sharma’s samples indicated the presence of amphetamine, methamphetamine and cocaine, while TDP MP tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.

“All this has strengthened suspicion that MDMA allegedly supplied by the Goa-based DJ was circulated along with cocaine,” said the source.
