Goa pays tributes to Martyrs

The Chief Minister Laximikant Parsekar paid rich tributes to martyrs on the occasion of Martyrs Day at a function at Azad Maidan, Panaji on Saturday. A wreath was also placed on behalf of the Governor Dr Mridula Sinha by Special Secretary to Governor Dr N Radhakrishnan. PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, MLA Naresh Sawal and others also placed wreaths.
Chief Secretary, RK Srivastava. secretaries, freedom fighters, north district Magistrate Swapnil Naik, additional secretary (Home), Sanjeev Gadkar, director of I&P Jayant Tari, heads of departments and citizens also paid homage.
A two-minute silence in memory of the Martyrs was also observed. As the buglers sounded The Last Post, the Police Guard reversed arms followed by the guard presenting arms while the band sounded the rouse. Patriotic songs were also sung by the children of Bal Bhavan.
