The Goa government on Thursday terminated the services of four Junior Scale Officers of the Goa Civil Service after the Supreme Court stay on the order of the High Court of Bombay at Goa under which they were appointed.
In the order by the Department of Personnel on November 27, the government announced termination of the appointments of Brucelee Jesus Nazario Savio Quadros, Praveen Prakash Shirodkar, Nilesh Bhagwant Naik (OBC) and Daulatrao Vijayrao Rane Sardesai (CFF). All four were appointed ‘notionally’ as Junior Scale Officers with effect from May 23, 2012. The High Court judgment on February 12, 2025 confirmed the appointment.
The apex court stayed the effect and operation of the High Court judgment that had paved the way for their appointments. “In view of the directions of the Supreme Court of India… the services of the following Junior Scale Officers stand terminated,” the order signed by Under Secretary (Personnel-I) Raghuram Faldesai stated.
The four officers currently hold postings as Deputy Collector, Joint Director (Information & Publicity), Deputy Director (Tribal Welfare), and Deputy Director (Administration) in the Directorate of Social Welfare.
