The State government is working on a partnership with two companies called Nucleus Vision and Eleven01 Foundation (India) to use Blockchain technology, which will have several applications, including helping people in providing validated education degrees while applying for a job.
Rama Iyer, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Eleven01 Foundation (India), said, “Yes, we have announced several partnerships, including the one with the government of Goa. In principle, there is an agreement to look at ‘use-cases’ on Blockchain domain on what Nucleus Vision and Eleven01 Foundation (India) can do for some departments of the government. The final details of the partnership will have to be inked and signed.”
Iyer was part of the International Blockchain Congress, which took place at Inox in Panaji.
He said, “The term ‘use-cases’ includes vehicle identity management, certificates and degrees of educational institutes. Once you put these documents on Blockchain,
they can’t be tampered with and therefore they are validated.”
Iyer continued, “Suppose you have to apply for a job using your degrees, which
are already on Blockchain. In an event, there is a request from a company, you can quickly authenticate the documents. Due to this, the company will know that the information is coming from trusted parties.
And, you will no longer
have to get photocopies of your degrees and go to a gazetted officer.”
“Thanks to Blockchain, even universities will have control, which these never had. Earlier, once universities issued a certificate, they were out of the picture.
In the case of Blockchain, they can make small transaction money from seekers of validating. A company spends Rs 30,000-40,000 for a job validation and it takes three months. Due to Blockchain, it can get all the valid records in few minutes and at a small fraction of cost and time,” Iyer concluded.
