PANAJI
In order to take citizens into confidence and take their suggestions in developing Ribandar as a ‘Smart Town’, the Imagine Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) has scheduled a ‘citizen consultation process’ on Monday at 6 pm at the Goa Institute of Management Campus at Ribandar.
Swayandipta Pal Chaudhury, Managing Director & CEO of IPSCDL, will make a presentation on the Smart
City project.
When asked about the Smart City project, Chaudhury said that there are plans to totally change the face of Raibandar. “Consultants will be present at the programme and I myself will be making a presentation,” he said.
“It is actually the up-gradation of the entire Ribandar. A jetty is being proposed for the fishermen, Community centre, market, implementation of the sewage network and special plantations are some of the things proposed,” Chaudhury informed.
He said that the corporation has already tendered the work of the underground cabling which was the demand of citizens for long.
“We are also replacing older transformers with new compact transformers,” he said.
Panaji City is one of the 13 in the country chosen for centrally sponsored Smart City Development scheme. The special purpose vehicle IPSCDL has been set up by the State government to implement the Panaji smart
city roadmap.
Earlier IPSCDL and the consultant appointed for the project held a public consultation in Panaji. Now there has been a special consultation arranged for the people of Ribandar.
