Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation on Monday refuted the allegations made by GPCC President, Girish Chodankar regarding alleged scam in the illumination of Atal Setu.
In a press release issued here, GSIDC termed the allegations as false and baseless and devoid of factual position.
“The project work is ongoing and GSIDC is yet to complete the same and rates are also yet to be finalised. There is neither favour or undue payment made to M/s Larsen & Toubro Limited nor any payment made in violation of any procedure. GSIDC has not appointed any sub-contractor in the matter and also not effected any payment to the sub-contractor,” stated the press release.
Consultant M/s TPF Engineering Pvt Ltd had requested the GSIDC to include the scope of supply of streetlight poles and fixtures in the scope of contractor M/s Larsen & Toubro Limited so as to ensure smooth supply, erection and coordination chain between civil and electrical work in tune with progress of work. It stated there were chances of jumbling of cables or duplicating, if executed by different agencies, since the cabling work was in the scope of Contractor M/s Larsen and Toubro Ltd proposal was approved by GSIDC Board for smooth execution of project and further maintenance of project.
The contractor had submitted the bill duly certified by the consultant amounting to Rs 22.25 crore of which only Rs 8.56 crore has been paid as advance, added the press release further.
GSIDC has sought the details of rates of all the items from the manufacturer (M/s Neri Lighting (India) Pvt Ltd.) which are still awaited.
