MARGAO
With less than a week to go for the ensuing Ganesh festival, the Goa police explained the do’s and dont’s to the representatives of Sarvojanik Ganesh mandals during the festivities.
DySP Raju Raut, who is holding additional charge of Margao Sub Divisional Police Office, and Margao PI Tushar Lotlikar on Tuesday had an interaction with the representatives of the mandals with a view to strengthen security measures in and around the Ganesh mandals. DySP Raju impressed upon the representatives to appoint volunteers to oversee the arrangements round the clock. While the mandals have been asked to install CCTV surveillance cameras in and around the mandals, they were further advised to keep the surroundings clean to ensure miscreants do not take advantage of the waste to place any inflammable material. Stress was also laid on the illumination of the mandals and the mandals were further told to make vehicular parking arrangements away from the venue. On the day of immersion, the mandals were told to ensure that music is played within the decibels.
