The High Court also told the parties involved in the multiple PILs it is hearing to come back on December 13, the next date of hearing, with objections if any to the four shortlisted names - Prof G Jeyashekaran of the Fluid Control Research Institute Palakkad, Dr B B Naik of Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Dr B A Shyamsundar of College of Fisheries Mangalore and a scientist from the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Kochi.
Separately, the Goa government also furnished a list of 5 institutions near Goa whose research laboratories could be used to test fish samples.
Central Institute of Fisheries Education in Mumbai, College of Fisheries in Ratnagiri, Dr Babasaheb Sawan Konkan Krishi Vidhyapeet Dapoli, Central Institute of Fisheries Technology in Kochi and Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Science University are the institutions where the commercial fish samples can be logistically sent for quality testing, the Goa government told the High Court.
The next hearing of the five PILs which were filed in the wake of the formalin-in-fish controversy which broke in July and which the High Court has clubbed together has been now fixed for Thursday.
