Unknown miscreants burgled a residential house near Don Khuris at Sao Jose de Areal, decamping with gold ornaments and cash.
The inmates of the house had left for the UK around a week ago, and the house has been lying closed since then. Relatives of the victims informed that the miscreants ransacked three cupboards and laid their hands on a gold chain valued around Rs 50,000, besides cash amounting to Rs 5800. The miscreants are believed to effected entry into the house through the main door and fled away through the rear door. A Maina Curtorim police team rushed to the spot to commence investigations into the burglary.
