Q: You are a rare mix, a businessman with a keen eye on developing not just properties and brands but styles too. What are your plans for the Kingfisher Villa?
Joshi: There are plans but I have yet to make up my mind. It’s too early to take a call on this. If you take my word, Goans will be the first to know about my plans regarding the Villa. This is a steady step towards achieving my goal. I have bigger plans which I shall reveal in time. Right now this is a special moment and I want to enjoy it with the public of Goa and my family.

Q: Will the Villa undergo a complete makeover or will its façade be retained. Also, are you thinking of renaming the property?
Joshi: The villa has to be redone. It has to be renovated but what and how it is to be done and who will do it, is yet to be decided. Yes, I shall rename the property.
Q: Why did your film production company Viking Media & Entertainment decide to buy the property?
Joshi: Goa is a place close to my heart. I have Planet Hollywood, Kings Beer and now Kingfisher Villa. I have received love, respect and good luck from this state. I want to do a lot more for Goa. I admit that this villa is the most controversial property in India. My parents are very happy to see their child successful. At 33, anyone who has achieved so much should be happy, I guess. I call myself a positive, creative and ambitious person who wants to do really good, meaningful work. I don’t want to limit or restrict myself. I want to leave my footprints on the sands of time.

Q: In 2016, you hit the headlines after picking up stakes in Playboy Lifestyle. Does your latest purchase have links with PB Lifestyle’s plans to expand through F&B formats such as night clubs and beer gardens?
Joshi: As I said, it’s too early to comment on my plans for the villa. I do not
