"The resolution to oppose nationalisation of rivers has been passed and Cortalim Panchayat will be the first to pass it. There is a fear and anxiety among the panchayat. A panch, owns a dock, probably fears that he will lose business. I want to tell him that nationalisation of rivers, if not opposed, will force all Goans to lose rights over our rivers," he said. He further said Goa Against Coal has a target to ensure that panchayats across the State adopt the resolution to oppose nationalisation of rivers in Goa. "Our members have gone as advisors for gram sabhas at seven panchayats to assist in adopting a resolution," added Simoes.
