Reiterating there has been no scam in the recruitment process of junior engineers in his department, PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar wants the inquiry by the three-member committee to be completed soon so that the process of recruitment is completed soon.
“There is no scam in the recruitment of junior engineers in the PWD and the procedure of job recruitment is complete. The only thing pending is issuing letters for the job offers,” said Pauskar while speaking to media persons.
“I demand that the inquiry be completed soon. The allegations about the job recruitment in the PWD are baseless. The technical assistant and junior assistant who have been selected are all qualified persons and no one has been selected without qualification,” said the minister.
“Only those qualified persons who have answered the exam and have come in the merit list have been selected. We have not interfered in the recruitment process.
It may be recalled the State government had appointed a three-member committee to inquire into the job recruitments following allegations from ruling and opposition MLAs about a scam in the
recruitment process.
Panaji’s BJP MLA Babush Monserrate had alleged there was a Rs 70 crore scam in the job recruitment.
The selected candidates have also been putting pressure on the State government to lift the stay on the recruitment process.
Meanwhile, PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar has said water supply had been restored to Tiswadi taluka.
“The main water pipeline which ruptured at Banastarim has been replaced.
With the repair of this pipeline, water supply which was disrupted to Tiswadi taluka has now been restored,” said Pauskar.
