Sources in the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce (DITC) have informed that the single window website of the Investment Promotion Board (IPB) is in the final stages of completion.

As and when this website gets ready, it will be a big boost to the industries because they will be able to apply for all the approvals required from the government departments on the website itself. A source from DITC said, “We have already given a demo to the IPB team. They have suggested few changes to the website, which we will be incorporating and after that it will be ready.”

“As of now, a business seeking to set up in Goa can go to IPB’s website and apply. But, if it wants further approvals from water and power departments, it can’t get those from the IPB’s website. After the website is fully ready, it will act as a single window for all the industrial approvals and businessmen will not have to run behind the departments physically for getting the approvals,” the source added.

The single window website of IPB will play a big role in Goa’s evaluation on ‘Ease of Doing Business’ (EODB) parameter by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) under the Central Government. The source continued, “The end of February 2019 is the deadline for the evaluation of all the states on how they have fared on EODB parameter. IPB’s single window website has to be functional before that.”

After February 2019, the DIPP is going to take 100% feedback from the industries in the states with regards to how the respective state governments have performed on EODB parameter.
