'Jinneche Dhage' released in Romi Konkani

'Jinneche Dhage' (Threads of Life), a book of essays on value education in Roman script Konkani written by Carmelite Brother John M Alfonso, was released by the parish priest of Mother of God Church, Majorda, Fr Ave Maria Afonso at Majorda on Sunday.

This book was published in Devnagari script Konkani a month ago.

Fr Afonso lauded the efforts of the author in providing good literature.

The author has used the psychological theories and concepts like Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy of Albert Ellis, Motivation Theory of Abraham Maslow, Individual Psychology of Alfred Adler, Transactional Analysis of Dr Eric Berne, Self Determination theory of Richard M Ryan and Edward L Deci, Unconditional Positive Regard of Carl Rogers, Positive Reinforcement of B F Skinner etc, to explain different themes like good touch and bad touch, motivation, child abuse, interpersonal relationships, attitudes, mindlocks, thought pattern, respecting a girl-child, expectations, anxiety, listening, respecting life, belonging, humility, kindness, mercy, expectations, etc.

This book is published by Dhyanavana Publications of the Order of Discalced Carmelites of Karnataka-Goa Province and printed by Anjoy, Pilerne.

This is the fourth book by Alfonso and he has to his credit Sukhi Jinn, Jinnechi Vatt and Jinnechea Som’dirant.

Jinnechi Vatt, a book written originally in Roman script has been transliterated into Kannada script. The same book has been awarded by Thomas Stephen Konkani Kendra, Goa Konkani Academy and Konkani Bhasha Mandal.
