One dies in accident

MARGAO: A Scooty rider from BandaÂ Asssolna, Capistano Almeida, died in a road accident at

Cuncolim on Saturday evening.

Cuncolim police station inÂ-charge, PI Gurudas Kadam said the deceased, who was travelling on

his Scooty was knocked down by a Maruti Omni driven by Satyawan Naik at Cuncolim near the

Uskiniarik at around 7 pm on Saturday.

He said the deceased died on the way to the Hospicio hospital. PI Kadam said the police has

registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the van driver.

Further investigations are on.
