Candidate to fill vacancies in the State and two district consumer disputes redressal commissions are expected to be picked some time this week even as the State government recently notified the selection committee headed by Justice Mahesh Sonak of the Bombay High Court.
The seat of the president of the Goa State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and two members recently fell vacant.
Also, the North Goa District Commission is without a president and two members. The Commission for the South Goa District has a vacancy of one member.
Besides Justice Sonak, who is named chairperson of the selection panel, it also has two other members -- Civil Supplies Secretary, Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, and Revenue Secretary, Sandip Jacques, IAS.
The order constituting the Justice Sonak headed selection panel was issued after much delay in August by Gopal Parsekar, the director of civil supplies and consumer affairs who also doubles up as ex-officio joint secretary to the government.
