Traffic officials and representatives of DBL on Monday carried out a joint inspection of the new Zuari bridge.
SP Dharmesh Angley and Vasco Traffic PI Shailesh Narvekar were present during the joint inspection with officials of the DBL.
When contacted, Vasco Traffic PI Shailesh Narvekar said while the traffic department had an initial meeting at the DBL office, it was later decided to have an onsite inspection.
"SP Dharmesh Angley had detailed interaction with DBL officials on issues related to traffic. Angley also gave various suggestions to DBL officials and they included placing signboards indicating speed limits and for the safety of motorists.”
“We also checked all the entry and exit access points leading in and out of the new Zuari bridge and also inspected the diversion points to assess traffic situations on the new Zuari bridge," said PI Narvekar.
"We have also requested that informatory, directionary and cautionary boards be placed on the roads along the new Zuari bridge before commencing operations.”
He informed that another final joint meeting and inspection would be conducted before the new Zuari bridge is thrown open to motorists.
