K’taka native held for mobile phone theft

PANAJI

Panaji Police have detained a 26-year-old man from Karnataka, identified as Kabeer, for allegedly stealing mobile phones from various locations.

The arrest came following an investigation into a complaint lodged by Prasad K K, a make-up artist from Kerala, who reported the theft of his mobile phone while waiting outside a casino office in the early hours of Tuesday morning.  

“Panaji Town Police Station, with their meticulous planning and intelligence gathering, obtained information through various sources leading to the identification of the suspect. The accused, Kabeer, was subsequently apprehended. At his direction, four additional mobile phones were recovered,” stated the police, revealing that the collective value of the recovered mobile phones amounts to approximately Rs 1.10 lakh.
