MAPUSA
With every political decision you take there are consequences, said Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza suggesting that the Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo was probably facing the TCP minister’s music for ditching the BJP on the eve of the assembly elections.
D’Souza also said that many other people have also been pulled up for not renewing their restaurant licences but the media was focusing on Lobo probably because he was the opposition leader.
“Why did he quit BJP? He should have thought…he is a very senior politician. He was in a good position. He should have stayed back. Maybe he would have been in a very high position today. That was his political decision. It is all part of politics. I think with every political decision you take there are consequences,” D’Souza said.
The Mapusa MLA was responding to queries on the impression that the TCP minister was personally targeting the Opposition Leader.
On why there was no action against Lobo when he was part of the government, D’Souza said that probably there were no complaints against him then.
He said Lobo has never seen opposition days as he has always been in the position of power.
“As a youngster I have seen my father and former chief minister Manohar Parrikar leading the opposition from 2004 to 2012. They navigated through difficult times and came to power,” he said.
