Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has backed Town and Country Minister Vishwajit Rane for his action in scrapping the Outline Development Plans (ODPs) and for other related actions, claiming that Rane is doing a good job.
"Definitely, Vishwajit is doing good work. Vishwajit is a hard worker and has said he will reveal names in the assembly session. We have to give him time. Many things will come to light at that moment,” said Dhavalikar.
The BJP has backed the TCP minister on the cancellation of ODPs and has refuted victimisation of any politician.
Vishwajit suspended ODPs after receiving complaints of conversion of No Development Zones, agriculture and Khazan lands.
Besides ordering an inquiry about conversion of agriculture tenanted lands, he has also appointed a committee of experts to look into specific complaints and violations.
However, Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo has alleged that he has been targeted by Rane.
Reacting to Lobo’s allegations, Dhavalikar said Vishwajit has not targeted anyone personally.
"The assembly session starts from July 11. We have to wait for another 12 days", said Dhavalikar.
Meanwhile, Dhavalikar said the electricity tariff has been increased to generate revenue for maintenance of streetlights, which will now be done by the electricity department.
“Special junior engineers and a special force has been created to maintain public streetlights,” said Dhavalikar.
