He said Lobo playing the role of party spokesman was unfortunate and against democratic norms.
“If Lobo wants to become spokesman of BJP or the BJP government, we have no problem but he must resign as deputy speaker to
uphold democratic values,” Panjikar said.
The North Goa District Congress Committee chief said it was a matter of surprise and shame for a two-term MLA, who does not understand a simple democratic system and neutral role of a deputy speaker.
“It looks like Lobo has become a RSS member, who does not respect democratic institutions or democratic values,” he said.
Panjikar further said the way the Calangute MLA was defending the felicitation and celebration of government formation was
unjustifiable and not at all convincing to the people of Goa.
He urged the BJP to first convince its workers and voters before trying to
convince the people of Goa for forcing a government on the people which was against the verdict of Goa.
