The Loliem-Polem village will get projects worth over Rs 5 crore, which include hotmixing of internal roads, a water tank and three other projects under the RDA.
The work to repair a road at Agos was launched in the presence of Dy Speaker and Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes, Loliem-Polem Sarpanch Sachin Naik, PWD Engineers AW Swapnil Naik and JE Sawant and some residents.
Naik thanked Fernandes for taking up development works in Canacona taluka in general and Loliem-Polem in particular.
When asked if all works which were launched in the recent past have been completed or are underway, Loliem-Polem Sarpanch Sachin Naik replying in the affirmative.
“In fact, the inauguration of a water project is taking place next week, while road works worth Rs 4.5 crore to hotmix internal roads are being started and three RDA projects worth Rs 60 lakh are to be taken up shortly in the village,” he said.
“A motorable road right up to the door of our church cemetery has been completed and this will benefit our Christian families.”
