A large number of unmapped voters were seen at the South Goa Collectorate on Saturday after receiving notices from election officials to appear for a hearing with relevant documents.

The process was conducted by Deputy Collector Ganesh Barve at the Collectorate as voters responded to the notices issued under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.

Barve said that notices were sent to voters listed in the unmapped category, asking them to report with the required documents. “These voters will be mapped once they produce the relevant documents,” he said.

However, many voters who turned up at the Collectorate had to stand in long queues and wait for their turn to be heard by the election officials. Some of them said the authorities should streamline the system and make it more convenient for voters.
