The installation of Lord Ganesh placed in the midst of the “Shivaji fort” has been drawing much attention in Canacona.
According to sources, the Padkar family of Indrawada-Gaondongrem has installed Lord Ganesh in an unusual surrounding of the “Shivaji fort” and adding to the unique presentation is the use of 108 different types of fruits to prepare the huge Matoli to symbolise the 108 different names of Lord Ganesh.
Incidentally, the Padkar clan consists of four families and they are known to set up a unique Ganesh decoration every year.
In the past, they are known to have bagged state-level awards at Ganesh decoration competitions in the individual household categories, with their unique presentations.
This year, the Padkar family decided to enacted the theme of Shivaji Fort and will worship Lord Ganesh for a period of seven days.
Several devotees and enthusiasts have been lining up to see the unique Lord Ganesh decoration at the house of Padkar family in Indrawada-Gaondongrim.
This year, the Padkar family also participated in a Matoli competition organised in Canacona constituency and were awarded the third prize in the contest.
