Aam Aadmi Party Convenor Rahul Mhambre attributed the low turnout due to failure of the government and the State Election Commission to create awareness about the polls among the public.
“The elections were held within just six days after the announcement. Secondly, the BJP erected billboards of their candidates in every nook and corner while the CM went about addressing corner meetings everywhere. Without a level playing field, the opposition was left high and dry,” Mhambre said.
He said AAP has lodged a complaint with the SEC over the serial number on the voting list also reflected on the ballot paper.
“This created an apprehension among the voters about the secrecy of their vote,” he said.
