The Magsons Pariwar has repaired the broken and corroded railings of the Senior Citizen’s park located at Campal-Panaji, after the matter was raised by the Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR).
Taking suo-moto action about broken and corroded railing of the Senior Citizen’s park, the GSCPCR brought it to the notice of the Magsons Pariwar as it was posing health hazard to small children visiting with their grandparents, states a GSCPCR press note.
Taking due note of the concern of GSCPCR, authorities concerned informed Sports Authority of India to immediately look into the matter as they were responsible for regular maintenance works and seeking necessary permission to repair the areas affected. However Sports Authority of India did not reply to their request to grant permission to repair the area.
“They then decided to put a banner at the venue to intimate visitors that renovation is underway. It was also noticed that park premises was misused by youth who were drinking and throwing liquor bottles, empty food packets and there was no proper lighting at night and poor security arrangement for safety and security of grandparents and small children who come there to use the premises.”
“Despite requests from GSCPCR and Magsons Pariwar, Sports Authority of India did not take any action. The Magsons Pariwar decided to go ahead with repair work of rusted GI pipes, taking into consideration the urgency of the situation.”
“Finally, the repair of dilapidated boundary pole structure at the above park was completed. GSCPCR appreciates the efforts of Magsons Pariwar for their prompt action taking into consideration safety of our children and senior citizens visiting the area.”
“The Sports Authority of India who is entrusted with the regular maintenance of the premises should now take necessary steps in maintenance of the premises, proper lighting & security of the place to prevent misuse,” the GSCPCR press note added.
