A male body was found at Baina beach on Monday evening and locals suspect the deceased may have drowned at the beach.
Locals claimed that the clothes and other items were seen near the canoes stationed along the beach a few metres from the spot where the body was found.
“People were walking on the beach when one person claimed to have spotted the body floating in the water. He alerted people in the area, who later informed the police,” said a local. “We don’t know the person and we feel he may have drowned in the sea. The body may have then washed ashore and noticed by the people on the beach.”
