An argument came to a violent end when a man allegedly murdered his father in Shiroda on Wednesday afternoon.
According to sources, Ganesh Gaonkar (65) was involved in an argument with his son, Rajesh (34) over a petty issue. Rajesh allegedly struck his father with a rod, causing him grievous injuries.
Ganesh was taken to the Shiroda PHC and later to Hospicio in Margao. He was then shifted to GMC hospital, where he breathed his last around 7.30 pm.
Ponda police have arrested Rajesh on charges of murder and Ponda PI Vijaykumar Chodankar is further investigating the case under the guidance of Dy Superintendent C L Patil.
