PANAJI:
The Crime Branch arrested Vikas Rathod (20), a resident of Anjuna for alleged possession of party drugs during a raid at Four Cross Junction near Green Park Hotel, Guirim on Thursday.
According to SP Rahul Gupta, Rathod was caught red-handed with a transparent polythene packet containing 6.613 grams of pink and brownish powder suspected to be MDMA. The seized drugs, along with a mobile phone, are valued at Rs 1.15 lakh approx. The alleged peddler is booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and remanded for custodial interrogation.
This is the second case in Guirim. On the previous day, Mohammad Rehan, a Bengaluru native, was arrested with suspected ganja worth Rs 1lakh.
