A passenger was booked for carrying a live round at Mopa airport on Monday.
In a police complaint, the CISF stated that the incident took place at about 7.25 am when the accused, Saurav Paitannaik of Kendujhar-Odisha, was planning to travel to Mumbai from the Manohar International Airport.
During screening, security agencies detected one live round in the handbag of the passenger and he could not produce a valid arms licence to carry and possess the round.
He also could not produce permission from the competent authority to carry the same in the aircraft.
In this connection, Mopa Airport police registered an offence under Section 3 r/w 25 of the Arms Act 1959. PSI Deepak Halarnkar is conducting an investigation in this matter.
